FAQs
Startup India (DPIIT) Registration — questions, answered.
Is Startup India / DPIIT registration really free?
Yes. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry charges no fee for DPIIT recognition and has appointed no agency or franchise. Anyone charging a 'government fee' for recognition itself is a red flag. You only pay for the incorporation and any professional help.
Who is eligible for DPIIT recognition in 2026?
Under the 2026 rules, a startup must be a Pvt Ltd company, LLP, registered partnership or cooperative society, under 10 years old, with turnover up to ₹200 crore (a separate Deep Tech track allows 20 years / ₹300 crore).
What is the Section 80-IAC benefit?
DPIIT-recognised private limited companies and LLPs can claim a 100% income-tax exemption for any 3 consecutive years within their first 10 years, subject to IMB approval. We'll check if you qualify.
